ROOKIE SPOTLIGHT

The Dynamic duo of Kaela Davis and Allisha Gray marks as the most successful rookie campaign in the WNBA this season. Currently they are ranked as the two top scorers in the league for all rookies. Combined, the two are averaging 21.0 points per game. Together they rank one and two in scoring average, and minutes amongst rookie leaders.

Allisha Gray currently leads all rookies in the league averaging 12.1 points per game. She registered a season high of 17 points against San Antonio, shooting 66.0 % from the field. She also leads in boards amongst rookies averaging 4.9 per game. She recorded a season high vs. Indiana on May 30 with a total of nine. With six blocks overall this season, Gray leads all rookies in rebounds and blocks. In boards she is averaging 4.6 per game, and in stops 0.67. Amongst rookie leaders, she currently ranks in the top five in five other categories (assists, field goal percentage, 3-point field goal percentage, free throw percentage and steals). For the team, she ranks in the top five in scoring, behind veterans Skylar Diggins-Smith, Glory Johnson and Karima Christmas-Kelly. Was named WNBA rookie of the month for May.

Kaela Davis is ranked second amongst rookie leaders in scoring and minutes behind teammate Gray. She is averaging 8.9 points per game, and 21.1 minutes per game. She scored her first 20-point WNBA game at the Wings season opener against Phoenix, to become the first rookie to hit the mark in franchise history. Davis is second in field goal percentage behind the Sparks Sydney Wiese with a .429 percentage. She is also second amongst rookies in free throw percentage behind Washington's Shatori Walker-Kimbrough. Currently she ranks in the top five in two other categories amongst rookie leaders (rebounds and assists).

AMONGST ROOKIES

Saniya Chong is also taking the rookie categories by force. Currently she ranks second in steals averaging 1.1 take away per game behind San Antonio's Kelsey Plum. She's also ranked in the top five amongst rookies in assists (1.8 avg), and blocks (0.2 avg).
